No.
This does not make you a better person. Any death is worth mourning. But the death of a soldier killed in action does not make his death more important than Whitney Houston’s. Nor is Whitney Houston’s more important than a soldier’s. I would hardly say he’s forgotten. He has people on the battlefield and back home to mourn him. Just because it didn’t make breaking news doesn’t mean it’s not worth remembering. His family will remember him. His friends and squad members will remember him. He deserves his respect, not tricks playing the passive-aggressive card online. He isn’t forgotten. Calm down.
Whitney Houston was not famous simply for her drug addiction. You can say what you’d like about her personal or otherwise. You don’t even have to like her singing or songs, but there’s no denying the sheer amount of influence she’s had on popular music across the world. When you’ve made that kind of impact, when you’ve lived that kind of life in the public spotlight, chances are when you pass on it’s going to make some sort of headline and be documented. She was famous alive. Of course she’d be famous after death. This is not brand new information.
You are not special for passively trying to guilt people. You are not a better person. You are a dumbfuck for thinking you’d persuade people into your foolish line of thinking. No.
You know. Just saying.
